Longjing or Dragon Well Green Tea

Longjing or Dragon Well Green Tea

Some tea drinkers like to refer to longjing (dragon well) as the “gentleman” of Chinese teas. (Long Jing, longjing, Lung Ching, Dragon Well).

The tea produced in Zhejiang province is known for a green and slightly yellow colour, rich orchid and chestnut aroma, and a sweet aftertaste and a neat appearance.

With fertile lands and mountains on three sides, the area stops chilly winds from the north while retaining warm air currents from the south. That favourable geographical feature, along with superior local water quality, helps to produce a great tea.

The tea leaves that are handpicked before the Qingming Festival (early April) are highly rated for their rich fragrance and tenderness. Following the early spring, longjing tea is then picked each year until autumn.

Our Dragon Well has a sweet, rounded flavour, with a full, nutty and buttery texture, and pleasantly dry finish. A truly satisfying cup of tea.

This tea contains a moderate level of caffeine.
Steep at 75 to 80°C for 2 to 3 minutes or until 70 to 80 percent has sunk to the bottom of the cup, once you get to the last 1/3rd you can fill up and drink again.
