Matcha Whisk -Kazuho Bamboo Chasen Matcha Whisk

Chasen (Bamboo Whisk) is the important tool for whisking Matcha Green Tea powder.
This handmade Chasen is made of one piece of natural bamboo crafted into fine bristles. It helps to whisk the Matcha powder into frothy lather, brings out the inner mellow of the tea.

How to use it:

It is recommended to sift Matcha powder for better lather, and moist your Chasen with warm water to soften it. Place 1 spoon of Matcha powder in Chawan or tea bowl. Pour in 70cc, 80°C-100°C boiling water. Using Chasen (bamboo whisk) quickly whisk Matcha in direction of writing "W" into a frothy lather.

To keep your whisk in top condition we recommend a whisk holder available here in 3 different porcelain glazed colours. Please remember a whisk traditionally (in Japan) only has a life of 6 uses but with the holder and correct looking after this can be increased dramatically.
